The Wizard of Oz-themed roller coasters – Flight of the Wicked Witch and the Kansas Twister – are now open at Warner Bros. Movie World Australia.
Warner Bros. Movie World in Oxenford, Australia, opened its “Wizard of Oz” theme park on December 20, 2024, with two new roller coasters.

flight of the evil witch is a suspended coaster, meaning the track is above the coaster train rather than below it. The ride can reach speeds of 67 km/h (or 42 mph) and reach a height of 19 meters (or 63 feet). On the roller coaster, riders imagine themselves soaring with the Wicked Witch’s flying monkeys, just like in “The Wizard of Oz.” ‘Flight of the Wicked’ reportedly undergoing ‘technical rehearsals’ park websitewhich noted that the coaster’s “operating hours may vary while our teams fine-tune attraction operations.”
Kansas tornado — based on the tornado that tore through Gales Farm in “The Wizard of Oz” — is a boomerang roller coaster that travels forward along a track, pauses, and then travels backward along the same track. It can reach speeds of 58 km/h (or 36 mph) and reach heights of 22 meters (or 72 feet).

This area of Warner Bros. Movie World Australia is promoted as “No. 1 in the world ‘The Wizard of Oz’ area. While that may be true, this isn’t the first example of a Wizard of Oz story being adapted into a theme park attraction. The precinct follows in the footsteps of:
