Princess Cruises has decided to double the amount of future cruise credits that guests who booked two canceled cruises on Regal Princess will receive.
The Regal Princess is stuck in Galveston as the ship needs repairs. Cruises on October 27 and November 3 have been cancelled.
The cruise line said the cruise ship needed to make “necessary technical repairs,” necessitating the cancellation of the cruise.
Initially, Princess Cruises offered a full refund to all guests booked on both cruises and a 25% credit toward future cruises.
The cruise line has doubled that amount, and guests will now receive 50% of their cruise fare as a credit toward future cruises. This is in addition to a full refund.
FCC (Future Cruise Credit) applies to all Princess Cruises sailings through May 31, 2026, as long as they are booked before May 31, 2025.
Additionally, guests who book one of the cruise line’s all-inclusive packages (Princess Plus and Premier Packages) will still receive double cruise points as part of the Captain’s Circle Loyalty Accelerator promotion. Guests staying in a full suite will receive 4x loyalty points.
Princess Cruises sent the following statement to Cruise Fever regarding what future cruise points passengers who cancel their cruise will receive:
“Repairs on Regal Princess are proceeding as planned in preparation for her scheduled departure from Galveston on November 10. We are actively communicating with guests who booked this voyage to keep them informed of the situation.
“Our team remains committed to ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience and we look forward to welcoming guests aboard. Any further updates will be provided immediately.
“Additionally, as a gesture of goodwill, guests affected by the cancellations on October 27 and November 3 will receive an increased Future Cruise Credit (FCC) from 25% to 50% of the original cruise fare.
“This enhanced FCC will be automatically applied to guest accounts and will be available for bookings made through May 31, 2025, and sailings through May 31, 2026.
“Passengers who book a Princess Class or Premier package during the Captain’s Club Loyalty Accelerator promotion will still earn double the cruise points, and all-suite guests will earn four times the loyalty points.”
Regal Princess is homeported in Galveston and offers 6- to 11-night cruises to the Caribbean.
Most of the ship’s sailings from Texas are six to eight nights and visit the Western Caribbean. Port calls include Cozumel, Costa Maya, Belize and Roatan.
In spring 2025, the cruise will reposition itself to Europe and offer cruises from Southampton.
