Rose Jordan wins 2023 WTA Leadership Award

Rose Jordan, recognized locally as a pioneer in Mineral Wells being declared the Healthy Capital of Texas, was nominated by Nikki Elms, president of the Mineral Wells Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau Board of Directors and park ranger at Mineral Wells State Park. “I am honored to nominate Rose Jordan for the Leadership Award because she embodies the core values ​​of the Health Tourism Association and has made outstanding contributions to health tourism in our community.”

She added that Ms. Jordan “pursued the Health Tourism Association’s Wellness Destination Pillar as an inspiring and achievable framework for the city’s wellness program. She has been working with our community to meet the pillars’ requirements, not just to create a A destination that meets the needs of healthy travelers and is also about helping bring health and wellness to our communities.” Elms also noted that Jordan “led the way to ensuring Mineral Wells was designated a Texas Health Capital.” The title of Health City was officially designated on June 18th2023, Governor Gregg Abbott.

WTA launches the Leading the Light Awards in 2022 to recognize individuals and/or companies/organizations that have successfully implemented health projects/initiatives/companies that uphold the principles of the association’s mission, “Shaping and supporting for the global good Sustainable Wellness Tourism”. ”

There is no fee to nominate or be nominated, and the annual awards are open to WTA members and non-members. Nominations are also accepted from members and non-members. As a jury, the WTA Board of Directors waives the nomination process and is therefore ineligible for nomination.

Nominations for the 2024 Lamplight Awards will be accepted early next year via the WTA website.
