One of the frequently asked questions when visiting Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World So, where can you find delicious food without making a reservation or spending too much money?
Pecos Bill’s Legend Inn and Cafe One of the largest restaurants in the Magic Kingdom with hundreds of seats at Frontierland, located across from the new Tiana Bayou Adventure Park. The restaurant has offered many different types of food over the years and recently switched to a Chipotle-inspired “build your own” menu.
I was in town this week for the IAAPA Expo and headed to Disney to create a video about my beloved Tom Sawyer’s Island that I will be posting within the next two weeks. While I was there, I tried Pecos Bill’s new menu.
My choice? Steamed Green Chili Cheese Tamales with braised pinto beans, queso fresco and pico de gallo, topped with green chile pork [$12.99].

Pecos Bill’s other basic options include a rice bowl, nacho bowl or Southwest Caesar salad, all priced at $12.99. Other protein options include citrus jalapeño chicken or Coca-Cola cherry beef stew. Pork and chicken are available at no extra charge, but beef is available for an additional $0.50.
how was it?
I liked this better than the BBQ we had at Disneyland last week. [Is Disneyland’s new Barbecue Jamboree a hit?] You’ll never run out of masa, rice and beans. A generous helping of pork also added heft to the meal, and there were enough green chilies to keep my taste buds interested without inflaming my delicate esophagus. (Dedicated Mexican food lovers will want to slather on plenty of hot sauce.) For only a buck or two more than my local Chipotle, this is a tastier bowl than I’ve had at those places in years, making it a Delicious bowl. Very good value theme park meal.
Pecos Bill also offers a plant-based Masa Flatbread, topped with sweet potatoes, braised pinto beans, plant-based pepper jack, shredded lettuce, Pico de Gallo and plant-based lime crema, for $10.49; and a Double Chili Taco Burger, for $10.49 $16.49.
Just like last week at the Hungry Bear restaurant in Disneyland, while I was waiting for lunch, the most popular food I saw were burgers in various forms, and many guests seemed to order regular burgers or burgers from the kids menu, It only includes simple burgers. A slice of cheese instead of chili or cheese. I have feelings for Disney’s culinary team who work on developing new menu items to satisfy fans like me who are looking for something fresh and satisfying, only to see most park guests order the most basic options.

Country Bear Update
While at Disney, I finally saw the new Country Bear Music Extravaganza personally.
It’s a great show, in the playful tradition of the Country Bears, although the 10-minute runtime is a little short for me. Disney has selected an all-star cast of musicians for the show, including Chris Thile, Emily Ann Roberts and Allison Russell. ‘s exciting performances are complemented by Disney’s live audio animatronics. Seriously, Laurie (Mrs. Violinist.com) herself admires the bow arm and left hand of Ernest’s violin.
