Only five months left until #SpotLAX2024! From September 13th to 15th, we will meet again at Los Angeles International Airport. We know many of you are eager to start planning this year’s events, and below we have some exciting news for you.
If you’ve never been to SpotLAX, it’s a weekend gathering of plane spotters and aviation enthusiasts that we’ve been hosting since 2013. You can find out what it’s like for first-time attendees in 2023 here.
This year, we’re once again partnering with Brett Snyder and Cranky Dorkfest. This annual gathering will be held on Saturday, September 14th. You can learn more through this link. You may want to sign up for email notifications while you’re there. Brett often hosts additional events that weekend, which are announced on the blog. We have a new mailing list provider
Over the winter, the email mailing list provider we had used for the past few years shut down. If you are on the old mailing list, we can move you to the new one. If you have not registered before, You can do this here.
Hotel rooms now open
The amazing views overlooking LAX from the rooftop of the H Hotel Los Angeles are truly unparalleled. From the 12th floor, you can see almost the entire northern section of the airport, as well as many incoming aircraft. Then there’s the rooftop lounge seating, where many discussions about the minutiae of commercial aviation take place. Lest we forget, the smell of burning jet fuel and rubber is always in the air. Additionally, the hotel’s central location allows you to easily access various other plane viewing locations in the area. For most of the weekend, only hotel guests have access to the rooftop deck. As in previous years, we have arranged discounted room rates for this event. For reservation this year You must use this booking link. Rooms with one king bed start at $219 per night.

#SpotLAX2024 Opening Night Party Returns

For the second year in a row, we’re hosting the SpotLAX Opening Night Party on Friday night with our friends at Airline Videos Live. Last year, the event was so popular that it attracted more than 200 aviation enthusiasts to the rooftop deck of the H Hotel. This is a great way to enjoy a few hours on the rooftop without spending the night in a hotel. Just like last year, our friends at AVL will be live streaming from the rooftop that evening and will serve as our emcees. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. We will also be hosting a model airplane raffle like last year.
Tickets for this year’s party are $15 and will go on sale Saturday, June 15. Paid admission is required this year for all attendees, including hotel guests. We’ll have more information on how to get your tickets as the on-sale date gets closer. Check out our social media channels or sign up for our email newsletter to get these updates.
