raw material

  • 2 containers ice cream (We like Breyer Cookie Dough or Cookies Cream, but feel free to choose your favorite flavor)
  • 1 pack Oreos
  • 1 jar hot fudge sauce

instruct:

  1. Prepare Oreo Layer:
    • Start by removing the cream from each Oreo, then place the cookie halves into a large zip-top plastic bag. Seal the bag tightly and crush the cookies with a rolling pin or something heavy until they have a coarse crumb texture.
  2. Create the fudge mixture:
    • In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed Oreos with the hot fudge sauce. For best results, warm the fudge sauce slightly (about 15-20 seconds in the microwave) to make it easier to mix. Stir until the Oreo crumbs are completely coated in the fudge, forming a rich and gooey mixture.
  3. Assemble the Ice Cream Cake:
    • In a springform cake pan lined with freezer paper, spread a layer of Oreo fudge mixture on the bottom. This will be the base of your cake and add a crunchy texture.
    • Next, scoop a layer of softened ice cream over the Oreo layer and spread evenly over it. If the ice cream is too hard, leave it for a few minutes to soften slightly.
    • Repeat the layers by adding another layer of Oreo fudge mixture, then top with more ice cream. Continue until you reach the top of the pan, finishing with a layer of ice cream.
  4. frozen cake:
    • Cover the cake with plastic wrap or foil and place it in the refrigerator for at least 2-3 hours, or overnight if possible, to harden completely.
  5. Service and enjoyment:
    • When ready to serve, remove the cake from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes to soften slightly and make it easier to slice.
    • If you’re celebrating a birthday, add candles, slice and enjoy! Every bite is the perfect blend of creamy ice cream, fudgy chocolate, and crunchy Oreo pieces.

This cake has become a birthday tradition in our family and is always a hit. Layers of creamy ice cream and crunchy chocolate Oreos make every bite a delicious combination of textures and flavors. Best of all, this homemade dessert is much cheaper than buying pre-made ice cream cake, and you can customize it with your favorite ice cream flavor.

Give this recipe a try at your next celebration, it might become a tradition in your family too!
